Dear patients, dear colleagues,

kindly welcome to the Web site of the Department of Radiation Oncology of the University Clinic Basel. We will guide you through our clinic to present the actual techniques and developments in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University Hospital in Basel.
The institute of radiation oncology is an University Centre, offering modern radiation therapy for malignant and benign diseases, on the highest level of medical and technological development. This includes the technique of 3-D-conformal radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiotherapy as well as radiosurgery for malignant diseases of the brain and the body, and interstitial brachytherapy with Iodine seeds for prostate cancer as well. By a close cooperation with all other oncological disciplines in diagnostics and therapy, we are able to offer an optimal interdisciplinary treatment and all modern concepts in oncology for all patients.
